RADIO Player Pro v.2 supports three relay modes:
1. Listen to device
Captures audio from the specified input device and plays it to the relay output device configured in Settings -> Relay.
A buffer delay is added to the signal equal to the relay buffer size (adjustable in Settings [ F9 ] -> Relay).
To compensate for this delay with DTMF marks, enable "Account for relay buffer size for 'Listen to device' mode" in Settings [ F9 ] -> DTMF Audio Detector, or use the delay parameter in the DTMF sample settings.
This mode is simpler and preferred over the System Mixer mode. It also does not require an additional sound card for DTMF detection when switching from local ads back to relay. Plugin processing of the relay signal is supported.
Before starting relay, make sure the station broadcast is not audible through the output device — silence confirms that only the relay signal is being played.
2. File playback (relay type)
Plays audio from a relay playlist with plugin processing available. Buffer delay applies similarly to mode 1.
3. System mixer
Connects to the system sound card mixer controls to change the volume of the input or output signal.
No buffer delay (or minimal delay determined by card drivers). Plugin processing is not supported.
An additional sound card may be required for DTMF detection when exiting local ads.

The Audio Detector and Reserve (backup) mode work in all three relay types.
Setting up backup (Reserve mode)
Step 1. In Settings -> Relay, enable "Switch to Reserve mode when signal is lost".
This option uses the silence detector settings (threshold volume and trigger time) from the fade assigned in the relay playlist properties.
Also enable "Mute relay volume in Reserve mode" to prevent the relay signal from overlapping the backup audio.
Step 2. Create a backup playlist that will start when a signal loss is detected.
Any playlist type works as a backup — file playlists or relay playlists (including internet streams).
The start and stop times of the backup playlist define the window during which it is active. Outside this window the playlist will not be triggered even if a signal loss occurs.
Multi-level backup
Multiple backup levels are supported (from RADIO Player Pro v.2.1.x):
- A relay-type backup playlist can escalate to a next-level backup if its own signal is lost.
- A file-type backup playlist can return to the previous relay backup when that relay signal resumes.
- The original broadcast signal is always monitored — when it resumes, all active backups are cancelled.

- LIVE BROADCAST lost -> BACKUP-1 starts.
- BACKUP-1 lost -> BACKUP-2 starts (BACKUP-1 monitoring continues).
- BACKUP-1 resumes -> BACKUP-2 stops, BACKUP-1 resumes.
- LIVE BROADCAST resumes -> all backups stop.
To change how ad or other playlists start during Reserve mode:
Settings [ F9 ] -> Playlists -> Playlist Properties -> select the playlist type -> enable "Change playlist properties in Reserve mode" -> click Edit -> set the desired start type (e.g. "Start exactly on time").
System mixer state on program start/stop
To restore the system audio mixer to a specific state when the program starts or stops, use Settings [ F9 ] -> Mixer Control.
