Auto-deletion of Played Content

Post by Radiosoft »

To prevent accumulation of unused playlists and already-played files in the queue, we recommend configuring automatic deletion. This improves program performance, prevents replaying of content that has already aired, and eliminates delays when ad blocks start.

Playlist deletion

Manually: use the Delete Playlist (or Clear List) button in the playlist view. From RADIO Player Pro v.2.2.1, the deletion dialog lets you delete up to a specific date or to the start of a period — for example, period [Week -1] with "Delete up to start of period" removes playlists from two weeks ago and earlier.

Automatically via playlist properties:
  • Start tab -> Delete playlist after auto-start (if an auto-stop is set, the playlist is deleted after the stop).
  • Stop tab -> Delete playlist after auto-stop.
List maintenance: the Find missing files and Delete missing files buttons remove entries for files that no longer exist on disk.

File deletion from queue

In Settings [ F9 ] -> Advanced:
  • Delete played files from Player — removes already-played files from the queue.
  • Delete played files from diskWARNING: permanently deletes files from disk (no recycle bin recovery possible).
We also recommend enabling Use recycle bin when deleting files in the same section so that deletions are reversible.

Playlist-level settings (Playlist Properties -> Additional):
  • Delete files of the same type from Player (with the Only from playlists option) — clears the queue of files of the same type when the playlist starts, even if global auto-deletion is disabled.
  • Delete played files from the playback panel — removes played files when the playlist starts.
  • Actions before stop -> Delete playlist files from Player — removes this playlist's files from the queue before the playlist stops.
In schedulers

When using RADIO AdsMan Pro or RADIO Rotator Pro, configure these properties directly in the schedulers, then export and import the schedule into RADIO Player Pro.
