Creative HS-1200 USB Wireless Headset

Сообщение zEnterHacker »

Hi - (sorry no Russian)

I cannot get the Michrophone of my wireless HS-1200 USB headset to work with Radio Player Pro under XP SP3.
When I set a MIXER Button to use the MIC, the program does recognize the Microphone, and no Fader can be selected.

I am able to get it working if I use Windows 7, but I have to enable "Listen to Mic" in Windows Sound Settings before it work correctly.
Does it require a special setting in XP if this "gaming headset" to work with Radio Player Pro.

The nice feature about the headset is that you get a wireless Microphone and an extra headset to listen to numbers before playing them.

Btw. I use newest drivers from creative!

Best regards
zEn

Probably headset drivers has no built-in ability to modify microphone input volume via standard Windows XP mixer.
Windows 7 has an ability to use a workaround using "Listen to Mic" option.

OK might be so, but from the XPs Mixer Panel you can set the Microphone Sensitivity - you cannot hear the Mic unless you go into "Voice" and then "Test Hardware".

But since Audacity is capable of recording live from this Micrpphone under XP SP3, I thought that the problem could be related to Radio Player Pro.

No this is not Player issue, it is driver's one.
Recording and manipulating with system mixer volume are not the same things.
So if program is able to record line-in input it doesn't mean that system drivers allow setting volume for line-in.
